What are you wearing?

I didn't really have a theme in mind when applying this polish. I just loved the beautiful deep sapphire blue. It is a lovely metallic. Very shiny. This one is #465 Starstruck by 10 Professional Nail Lacquer. I picked it up from a clearance sale at the CVS.

Aside from the beautiful color, I am very disappointed in Starstruck. It was easy to apply and only took two coats. I let it dry for about 5-10 minutes in between coats, like I always do. But it kept bubbling and getting lumpy. It chips and fades. Badly! Even with a topcoat. You can probably see it in the picture. I've only been wearing this for a few hours.

Maybe this is what I get for buying clearance items. Starstuck is going in the giveaway pile.

What are you wearing?

Today, I decided to use my new holographic polish from Color Club called Fashion Addict. It is a super sparkly light lavender. I can't stop looking at my hands! I keep turning them this way and that. Every time I look, there is a new pop of color and sparkle. You can almost see an entire rainbow of color in this polish. I'm kicking myself for not picking it up sooner.

David Bowie instantly came to mind as I was putting it on. Fashion Addict went on smoothly and only needed two coats. I thought this was going to be a three coater, for sure. I pleasantly surprised. It may be my new favorite. Watch out, Teal of Fortune! Nick says it looks like static on old televisions when it's not being all glittery. I think I agree with him!

 

The top picture was taken indoors with flash. The bottom one was outside in natural light. I bet you can tell that I just washed dishes. *laughs* I can't wait to try out the other Color Club holographic polishes I ordered. I bet hope they turn out as beautiful and easy to apply as this one.

I want to be an airship pirate.

Stay tuned for this week's exciting installment of.... "What Are You Wearing?" This week, my nail polish theme is Airship Pirate. What colors come to mind when I think Airship Pirate? Rusty reds and glimmers of hope! Or Julep's Jodie with a topcoat of Essie's Shine of the Times. I recieved Jodie in the March Julep It Girl Maven Box and Nick picked up Shine of the Times for me. Isn't he sweet?

This picture was taken indoors, with flash on in under artificial light. You can barely see the beautiful flakiness of Shine of the Times over Jodie. I like to think of it as... Hidden Treasure! What every pirate wants in their life, right? Jodie was very easy to apply. it only took two coats to get this rich coppery red. The formula was very thin, but creamy. It wasn't a color I would buy for myself normally, but it was a nice surprise in the Maven Box. I like it.

Once I stepped outside, the beautiful holographic flakes just lit up! I could see reds, gold, greens, and smaller flashes of blues and pinks. Very pretty. Jodie and Shine of the Times made a great pair.

I wish I acutually had an airship to go adventuring in. Today would be a great day for it, don't you think?
